Little Silver Police Department

Pursuant to the December 2021 Attorney General Guideline “Promoting Diversity in Law Enforcement Recruiting and Hiring,” the Little Silver Police Department is committed to doing all that we can to hiring staff who reflect the communities that we serve.  See N.J.S.A.52:17B-4.10.  2021 Census Data indicates that Little Silver’s population is 89.8% White, 4.3% Hispanic, 0.4% Black, 2.3% Asian, and 3.3% other.  As of December 31, 2021, the Little Silver Police Department had 19 sworn officers: 94.7% were white and 5.3% Hispanic.  Although our Diversity numbers are higher than the 2021 census data for Hispanic officers, through job fairs, such as the outreach event held by the Monmouth County Chiefs of Police at Brookdale Community College on March 8th 2022, and community events such as Student Government Day, National Night Out and our School Resource Officer Program at Red Bank Regional High School, we will continue to strive to enhance our efforts to seek diverse applicants to join our agency.
